Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Hayford Peirce 18:02, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Welcome aboard (getting sideboys and...where's the bosun's pipe?)

I'm a C3I, weapons and staff person, so I was finding myself in ever-deeper water when I started CATOBAR and aircraft carrier articles. Please feel free to make suggestions or improvements; I'm far more comfortable dealing with task group tactics than flight operations. A former inlaw was a flight test pilot for carrier aircraft, but that's as close as I've ever been to trapping. I made initial starts on HERO, HERF, etc.

There are quite a few naval aviation articles in various stages; the WWII material, I'm afraid, needs serious overhaul.

Alternatively, are there articles you'd like a hand in starting?

Incidentally, we've been putting general transportation, including aviation not specifically military, under the Engineering workgroup, or sometimes both Military and Engineering.
