Yoga is regarded by practitioners in the U.S. as a healthy form of physical exercise. However, as classical yoga is taught by Swamis in India, yoga is more likely to be considered a path for calming the mind (by relaxing the body and taming one's breathing), which also happens in many cases to improve one's health.
