Morag Murray Abdullah was the Scottish wife of Sirdar Ikbal Ali Shah. She authored 'My Khyber Marriage about her life in Afghanistan. Accompanying her husband on diplomatic missions after 1919, as well as journeying with him into remote mountains regions of Afghanistan, the author ptrovided a rare glimpse of Afghan life and culture in Valley of the Giant Buddhas. The book records people, whose lives had changed little in centuries, a short time before a generation of war descended on Afghanistan. She had three children.
