Calchas [r]: A character from Greek mythology who was the seer or prophet of Agamemnon during the Trojan War. He advised Agamemnon to kill his daughter Iphigeneia before setting sail for Troy in order to have favorable winds, a sacrifice demanded by the goddess Artemis.
