Note that, for the User page write-up, we do not expect a complete resume, and in fact, including one might look so much like self-promotion that your application might be ignored.  We are looking for a brief description of experience, skills or interests that might be helpful to other authors in the wiki in understanding your background during collaboration in the wiki.  The writeup need not reveal anything about your location, age, gender, etc.  However, too sparse or trivial a User page writeup is another grounds for denying your application, so make sure your writeup tells something useful about you for other contributors.  Ideally it should be at least a few sentences long.

We have a policy against self promotion or PR, and our User pages are not indexed by search engines.

For the User page write-up, do not include a complete resume. We are looking for a brief description of experience, skills or interests that might be helpful to other authors in the wiki in understanding your background during collaboration in the wiki. The writeup need not reveal anything about your location, age, or gender, but if it is too sparse or trivial, we might also deny your application, so please include a writeup--or at least a few sentences--that provides some real information about your background and interest for other contributors.

In certain circumstances (if you request), we will allow you to use first and middle initials in place of a first name.
