''[[Two Years Before the Mast]]'' is a memoir by the American author [[Richard Henry Dana, Jr.]].  It was published in 1840, having been written after a two-year sea voyage from Boston to California on a merchant ship starting in 1834. The account he wrote of the voyage contains a lot of interesting first-hand observations about life on at least two of the different missions (if my memory serves), so maybe this should be, or could be, worked into this articles somehow. I moved the biblio to the biblio subpage, but it's still getting size warnings. The lists of missions, etc is info that's probably well-suited for another subpage, probably the Catalogs (?), subpage, but I'm not sure how that one works. [[User:J. Noel Chiappa|J.
