I am an assistant professor in the Department of [[Politics]] and Government at Illinois State University, where I teach various graduate and undergraduate courses on American politics. My research deals mostly with race, social movements, democratization, and [[political party|political parties]] in the [[United States]] and [[South Africa]]. I earned my BA in Political Science from Hunter College of the City University of New York and my MA and PhD in Government from the [[University of Virginia]].
