You might also find it useful to create what we call a "sandbox" in your user space, which is exclusively yours and closed to peer editing.  Simply create User: Samuel Herec/Sandboxname, where sandboxname can be one or more topics useful to you.  These can move to mainspace for cooperative editing, when you are ready for criticism. Hello Sam.  I am a chemistry editor and author in many areas here at CZ and a base guitar player for fun. You might also check out the CZ:How_To page if you plan to use lots of chemical or mathematical formulas. Don't be scared to ask for help if you need it, by leaving a comment on my talk page. Also, when you leave messages, always "sign" your name by ending your message with four tildas.  David E. Volk 14:45, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Welcome Page

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Bruce M. Tindall 23:53, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Engineering!

It's great to have you! I am a CZ Engineering and Computers Editor; let me know how I can help you. My engineering interests are in systems, networks and telecommunications, software and medicine/medical ((i.e., life-critical vs. death-critical). Much of the medical work I do is software, as in nursing workflow and clinical decision support, but I also deal with networking sensors such as pulse oximeters, and indeed the trends to instrument the hospital bed itself. I am also interested in field medicine and incident command and communications.

There is something of a learning curve with our formatting and the like. One aspect unique to CZ and going beyond "see also" at Wikipedia, is our "Related Articles" subpage. At Biomedical engineering/Related Articles, feel free to edit in the appropriate higher-level concepts, subtopics, etc, in the form, in edit mode, of concept-name. This lets you create something of an outline and see what we already have. You can then start new articles simply as supporting definitions. As you can see, the material on that page was computer-generated.
