From original forum post: "LF Workgroup Educators for New CZ authors from WP" - making into easier to read/teach/learn format
Hello,
There is a mass influx of users from WP who are making tons of new stubs, articles, etc... making red links turn blue.
Anyway, these new users need some "learnin" about how we run our categories differently than WP. If an administrator could post more information or link to CZ article explaining this, that would be great.
However, what these educators could do (easily) is teach people about (by posting links on their talk page and explaining in words) 1) Workgroups 2) Workgroup Categories
2a) the importance of workgroup categories 2aa) How workgroup "recent changes" functions and its importance (by the way the recent changes link from list of workgroups is down but not recent changes within each wkg page) 2b) relationship of Workgroup categories and The Big CleanUP 2c) why we need generalized categories on articles and NOT just sub-categories that are too specific like WP -not saying specific categories are bad, just have a massive NEED for generalized categories too - (Like workgroup category (cough, cough))
will finish the rest of this post later - got to get back to studying. Until I finish. Please start trolling the Main "recent changes" page and start hitting up users talk pages (aka educating) who are contributing who 1) are not part of workgroup authors 2) not adding workgroup category tags.
And again, if someone could add a whole bunch of external links to this forum post about the topics I mentioned, that would be really awesome.

PS - make sure to write a little note in the box that tells people on the recent changes page what you are educating about - or make a == == link so that people trolling the recent changes page get some quick education on the topic.
PPS - when you contribute WKG tags to articles - please also make a note in that little box that displays your summary on the recent changes list for another form of passive educating.
PPPPPPS. There is a MAJOR need for Educating on checking the Box "from wikipedia" on articles that have sections from WP - but this deserves a 2nd post. Cannot write this now. Can anyone else?
