I studied mechanical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich placing emphasis on product development and nanotechnology. I performed the diploma thesis at Mikroelektronik Centret (MIC) - Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen where I worked on microarrays based on polymer substrate. Currently, I am finishing my PhD thesis at the Micro and Nanosystems Group at the ETH in Zurich. The focus of my project is on the evaluation of the mechanical material properties of polymers under dynamic loads, when used as e.g. micro actuators or resonators. I try to evaluate properties such as the complex modulus and high-cycle fatigue using electrostatically actuated polymer micro structures.
