Psychologist and Type 2 diabetic. Interested in the relative importance of motivational & planning strategies and biological factor management to effect behaviour change in eating disordered individuals. The medical literature promotes education and, therefore, knowledge as a means of enabling individuals to better manage dietary problems. Here, the biological processes are basis for management strategy design. By contrast, psychological models often place greatest importance on behavioural outcome beliefs and self-efficacy, as well as planning and coping strategies when predicting the likelihood for performance of specific behaviours.
