I completed a portion of my undergraduate degree at Broward Community College in Coconut Creek Florida. The remainder of my undergraduat degree was completed at University of Miami, in Miami, Florida. I was accepted to University of Miami, School of Medicine in Miami, Florida during my third year of undergraduate and therfore did not officially complet my undergraduate degree in Biology. I have instead completed my Doctor of Medicine at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, graduating in 1993. I then completed my residency in Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, finishing in 1997. I received Board Certification in Psychiatry in 1998. I have been in practice since my graduation, working in Public Community Mental Health Centers, jails, hospitals, small group practice settings and large group practice settings. I have direct clinical experience in psychopharmacology, treating most forms of mental disorders with medication.
