I have a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. I am currently employed at Fermilab working on the software of the CMS detector of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN. The piece I am responsible for is described at http://frontier.cern.ch.

I am very interested in promoting Open Source Software. When I worked at Lucent I rewrote and ran an internal automated software distribution system called Exptools, in which many open source tools were distributed to tens of thousands of users on nine different Unix variants.

My other big interest is in learning about what's new in scientific findings in many fields. I am especially fascinated by the incredible molecular machines found in living cells.
