Worked in IT for a number of years as a database developer but jumped ship in 2003 and now working on cruise ships, as a scientific diver and a travel writer. Educated to degree level in Business Studies. Dive instructor and boat handling instructor. Specialist areas: Antarctica, east Africa, diving, photography.
