Alex Frazer-Harrison is a freelance journalist and book editor living in Calgary, Canada. Originally from Saskatoon, his educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Journalism diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (now known as SAIT Polytechnic).

Alex has been a newspaper reporter since 1994, initially serving 10 years with Sun Media Corp. in Calgary, writing for the Calgary Sun, as well as serving for several years as Editor of the Calgary Mirror. Alex has been a freelancer since 2001, working in both the writing and editing fields. His work has appeared in the Calgary Herald, Vancouver Province, and Edmonton Journal, as well as in numerous magazines such as Avenue, CalgaryInc, Goldmine, Now Dig This, Reader's Digest, and Western Investor. He has also written for in-house publications issued by the City of Calgary, Calgary Police Service, Canadian Armed Forces and the University of Calgary. As of 2007 he estimates that he has written at least 5,000 articles since entering the journalism field, covering virtually every genre of reporting, though his specialty is community issues.

Since 2003, Alex has diversified his freelancing to include book-editing, providing substantive editing services. Books he has edited have included numerous works on Canadian history, the history of the Rotary Club, autobiographies, film history, and travelogues. Since 2006 Alex has also provided copy editing and proofreading services for a Calgary-based magazine publisher. Alex has a wide range of knowledge in many areas of pop culture, ranging from literature to music to film.

He is considered an authority on the work of Bill Haley and His Comets and assisted numerous entities during the recent 50th anniversary celebrations marking the start of the Rock and Roll era, including BBC2 Radio, Springtime! Productions, and music historian Jim Dawson. He also writes a column dedicated to Bill Haley for the Rockabilly Hall of Fame (http://www.rockabillyhall.com/Extra.html). Other current areas of interest include Simon Templar (The Saint), Doctor Who, James Bond, William S. Burroughs, Canadian geographical topics (especially Alberta and Saskatchewan), The Prisoner, Audrey Hepburn, and Modesty Blaise.
