Author and founder of irishtune.info, germanistik.net, celticmadison.org, and many other internationally or locally recognized Web sites, ever since the early years of the Web. I write about what I know, which is mainly limited to: Irish traditional dance music in general; Irish music and dance in Madison, Wisconsin; and Irish fiddling.

I live in Madison Wisconsin, where I also earned my PhD in German literature. Previously I earned degrees in German as well as Physics at the University of California, Berkeley. I have been a semi-professional Irish musician since the mid-1990s, although my day job is as a technologist for the University of Wisconsin.
