 Definition:  Easternmost section of the Pennsylvania Main Line of Public Works which consisted of 82 miles of rail from Vine and Broad Streets in Philadelphia, to the canal basin Columbia where the Eastern Division canal began. [d] [e]

I've written this from scratch. Boy, I'm not really thrilled on the name of this railroad; first, there's not a lot of documentation I've been able to get hold of yet; second, of the two relatively good sources so far, one had Philadelphia and Columbia, the other had Columbia and Philadelphia. I like The Amazing Pennsylvania Canals as a source better, so sticking with that. Further, the historical marker web page has The Columbia-Philadelphia Railroad and its Successor as a source. Well, there you go then. I'll be seeing if I can dig up more information, particularly on its use after the PRR bought it. --Jason S. Colflesh 15:31, 29 July 2007 (CDT)
