I have sent Stephen Ewen copies of all the emails exchanged between myself and Richard Mayes and asked him to handle the Permissions protocol. Richard Mayes drew this image himself and he is a registered user of Citizendium. The final email from Richard Mayes is copied below. Milton Beychok 14:04, 24 February 2008 (CST)

Milton,

You have my permission to edit the pictures as needed (or as you see fit) and to upload to Citizendium.

If you need anything else, feel free to let me know.

Richard

Richard, I agree with you in that vac distillation.PNG is much the better of the two ... and I really appreciate the effort you put into this. I have a few questions:

(1) Would you, as the copyright holder, give me written permission (in an email) to use your drawing in Citizendium under the GFDL license? That is needed before I could upload it into Citizendium. Alternatively, you could upload it yourself.

(2) I would probably modify your drawing a bit to delete all of the white space on the right hand side to reduce the width. I would also shorten the thermometer to reduce the height. Is that okay?

Your written description is quite adequate for me to derive from it a new section in the Vacuum Distillation article which I have already uploaded a few days ago.

Once again, thanks for the excellent work and for your effort.
