Sir John Vincent Cable (born 9th May 1943; known as Vince Cable) is a British politician who was leader of the Liberal Democrats from July 2017 to July 2019. He is also the Member of Parliament for Twickenham, and served as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills from 2010 to 2015. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Glasgow, and earlier studied at Cambridge.
