Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! - Stephen Ewen 19:36, 15 March 2007 (CDT)

Hello! Thanks, again, for your work here. Note for you on Talk:Economic heterodox tradition --Larry Sanger 21:33, 25 March 2007 (CDT)

Economics

João, o início do artigo Economics foi baseado no artigo da Wikipedia? Eu assinalei como conteúdo da WP, pois o parágrafo inicial (primeira versão) estão iguais. É isso mesmo? -Versuri 08:56, 26 March 2007 (CDT)

You said: "Many of your suggestions have been incorporated. The article has been sub-divided. Please feel free to edit any of it." Thanks for your message! It's encouraging to know that some of my suggestions were used! --Catherine Woodgold 09:50, 15 April 2007 (CDT)

my erasure of comments

Hi Joao, this was completely accidental. I edited just the section as I normally did many times on Wikipedia, but somehow it made the rest of it disappear. I think it might be a bug.??? Luigi Zanasi 13:01, 27 March 2007 (CDT)

Your signature

Hello Joao, can you, please, change your "nickname" to something other than "Guru2001" such as "João Prado Ribeiro Campos" or a shortened version thereof? This use of a "handle" in your signatures really isn't quite in the spirit of our real names policy. Thanks in advance. --Larry Sanger 23:43, 27 March 2007 (CDT)

Not quite Joao, the nickname still needs work! See this for some ideas. Sorry to bother you, but keep up the good work. --Matt Innis (Talk) 14:27, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

Asimakopoulos

Hi J.R. Campos (much better!). I saw your request for name change for Asimakopoulos and see that you consider it a typo and would like it to change to Asimakopulos, Athanasios. No problem, I can do that, however, I need to create it first name first (Athanasios Asimakopulos) in order to be compatable with the rest of CZ. If there is some other reason I need to be aware of, please feel free to let me know! You are working hard! Keep going. --Matt Innis (Talk) 22:04, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

You are definitely the expert here! If you feel that A. Asimakopulos is more appropriate, you are likely right, but I wouldn't be able to do that without at least being able to document a good reason so that others don't start following suit (such as A. Einstein, etc.) However, if you give me a good reason, we can take it to others that consider CZ:Article Mechanics to see if we should make an exception for various good reasons. We do want this to be as absolutely accurate as possible! Let me know. Thanks. --Matt Innis (Talk) 22:21, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

That's a good idea! Once other editors chime in, if you guys decide that it needs to be changed, just let me know then. I noticed that the redirect did not work.. If you take out the space between the "#" and "redirect", it will work for you. Thanks J.R. --Matt Innis (Talk) 00:05, 1 April 2007 (CDT) I went ahead and did it for you. --Matt Innis (Talk) 00:38, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

Language

Hello! Could you make sure that all your Talk-page comments are in English, please? It can cause problems for other authors and editors for there to be private conversations in various languages. Thanks. --Peter J. King  Talk  15:45, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

Wrong address...

The trouble is that politeness to the one can be impoliteness to the many. I didn't intend my request to be aggressive or insulting, however, and I'm sorry if you took it that way. --Peter J. King  Talk  15:58, 1 April 2007 (CDT)
I mentioned it to both of you. --Peter J. King  Talk  16:39, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

prolific

Nice work on all the economics related articles. Chris Day (Talk) 16:44, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

That's exactly what I was thinking! Unfortunately, however, I am next to useless on the topic. Hopefully more people will migrate from wikipedia once they see there is a chance to do some real work here. Assuming there are good people in wikipedia? Certainly for the sciences there are some very good contributors. Chris Day (Talk) 09:11, 4 April 2007 (CDT)
Hi. I saw your note about needing help. I might be able to help a tiny bit, as economics is a subject I'm interested in. What kind of help are you looking for? I might do better proofreading in this subject area than writing whole new articles.
Re Neo-Keynesian: I liked Jan Pen's book "Modern Economics". Whenever I try to explain it to people, they say "Oh, that's just the multipler effect" and stop listening, though.
Why don't you focus on a small area of economics, and do that area thoroughly? Maybe an area you're particularly interested in, or an area where Wikipedia is weak. As Citizendium grows, hopefully more economists will come along and fill in the other areas. Just my suggestion in response to your note. --Catherine Woodgold 10:43, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

OK, proofreading it is. It would be helpful if you put a list of articlse you've worked on on your user page, though not totally necessary as I can find it by clicking "user contributions". --Catherine Woodgold 10:55, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

Economics 100

Thank you very much for bringing this series of lectures to my attention by way of the economics discussion page. As I high school student looking to get ahead, I find this resource especially useful. This type of exposure to academic resources is yet another reason why more high school students should immerse themselves in the community of experts that is Citizendium. Again, thanks. -- Winston Gee 21:57, 2 May 2007 (CDT)
