A journalist of four decades standing, Sri Subhas Chandra Pattanayak, born 11 August 1944 at Tigiria in the District of Cuttack, Orissa (India), is the first online journalist of India to have been accredited under the laws to a government.

Before switching over to online journalism, he had worked both at the desk and in the field as a working scribe and had made a mark as an investigative journalist through his popular columns like Simhavalokana (animadversion) and Doora Adoora (Far and Near) in mainstream newspapers of Orissa.

He is the acclaimed author of domes like Sri Jaya Devanka Baisi Pahacha (The Twenty two Stairs created by Sri Jaya Deva) and Krushi Kuhukara Gantaghara Sri Mandira (Temple of Sri Jagannatha: The Abode of Agro-Magic)wherein he has ripped apart legends to unveil history.
