I am assistant professor of Religion at Appalachian State University. I have a Bachelors in Religion from California State University of Northridge, I have a masters in Religion (focus New Testament) from the Claremont Graduate University and I have a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in Sociology of Religion. My areas of interest are Biblical Studies, Sociology of Religion, Social Theory, Fundamentalism and Apocalypticism. My disseration focused on the use of sociological models in New Testament Studies, particularly the use of Marxist Models and their relationship both to Liberation Theology and to Apocalyptic New Testament Texts.
