Greetings!

My name is Michael W. Towns, and I am genuinely excited and thrilled to be a part of Citizendium.

I was born and raised in Florida, spent a few years in Georgia, and am now living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

My wife, Sarah, is pursuing her Ph.D in biomedical engineering at the University of Utah. She wants to eventually help design neural prosthetics that interact seamlessly with human neural tissues. (So, essentially, she's super smart and quite sexy.)

As for myself, I'm graduating in one week with a B.S. degree in Information Studies from Florida State University. Currently, I work professionally as an account representative for a major electronics supply chain company.

I am 100% committed to learning and education. That's one of the main reasons why I was drawn to Wikipedia a few years ago, and my passion for learning new things will definitely carry over to CZ. As for personal interests, I am obsessed with the game of chess, with learning several foreign languages, and with ancient near eastern cultures. I expect to be very much involved with those particular subjects here on CZ.

Please don't hesitate to send me an email (mtowns at gmail.com) or say hello. Since I'm new here, if I make any mistakes, let me know and we'll all learn this together. --Michael Towns 22:45, 30 October 2006 (CST)

Just to update folks, I've been updating and working on some of the chess articles (since I'm a huge chess nut). I'm working on Tigran Petrosian, one of the world champions..and when I'm done with that article, I plan on updating and sprucing up all the articles about the world champions. I've also created an article about a chess sacrifice called the exchange sacrifice. And that's just the beginning...--Michael Towns 23:45, 1 November 2006 (CST)

I've been busy with finishing school, and my graduation is a week away. Just wanted to let folks know that I anticipate being more involved...it's just been a busy month.--Michael Towns 11:48, 6 December 2006 (CST)
