Louise Valmoria is a student of Bachelor of Sciences and Arts at the University of Melbourne. Research interests include behavioural neuroscience, and European history and languages. She is also now studying an LLB with the University of London with a focus on EU and international law, and human rights.

Six years as a project officer in varying industries have resulted in involvement in projects including internal industry research for the IEEE SC3 Committee on the effects of electromagnetic fields on the body, and she has also had solid business experience in the recruitment industry, electrical engineering industry, infrastructure, and logistics and transport. She is currently working with a monitoring and evaluation team for an international public health NGO, as well as acting as a research assistant.

Louise is also the Citizendium's Mailing List Manager.

Contributions

I thoroughly enjoy research, and there are several areas of interest that I would like to contribute to and would love further collaboration on. One of the best ways I learn is to write about it. As a student I feel that being able to work with individuals with a lot of experience will teach me a lot in the way of being able to write effectively, as well as learn much more about my topics of interest.

I also dip my toe into the CZ:Monthly Write-a-Thon where, quite frankly, anything could happen.

Citizendium Support Activities

As I am not an 'expert' in any one field--just a very interested contributor and a wide reader--I feel that right now I can best work with Citizendium through a support role.

Mailing Lists

As Mailing List Manager my current role involves setting up and administering an increasingly large amount of mailing lists, which means I need to keep an eye on Citizendium Workgroups as well as other initiatives which may require extra support.

Wikiconversion

Wikitext may seem daunting to the new user, but in the interests of smoothing out the contribution process there is a group of volunteers who are able and willing to convert documents from .txt or .doc files into the required format for Citizendium. This is a service that we are offering to those who would like to contribute, but are unsure of how to deal with wikicode.
If you are familiar with wikicode and willing to help, interested volunteers can sign up here. The initiative is led by Anthony.Sebastian.
