LS Aravinda works with an organization in rural India on issues of women's health and livelihood. She seeks to uphold people's rights to traditional knowledge frameworks and practices related to family life, learning, livelihoods, agriculture, health and natural resource management, resisting forces of corporate globalization that act to extinguish them from common practice and push them to elite circles.

Her articles have appeared in Z magazine, Economic and Political Weekly, The Hindu, Manushi, and other periodicals.
