My academic and professional interests space across many fields. I am currently a grad student at California State University Northridge and am set to graduate in the fall of 2009. Right now I am finishing up my thesis for the M.A. degree in Geography with a specialization Geographic Information Systems (GIS). My topics focus is within the sub-fields of Media Geography and Geovisualization. Prior to this program I received a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) and an undergrad degree in Anthropology, also from CSU Northridge. Over the course of my education and professional career I have studied varied topics within the fields of Geography, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Cultural Ecology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, Archeology, and Green Building.

Due to my broad interests I have been exposed to a wide range of software applications and visualization techniques. I am interested in and have academic experience with: Geographic Information Science, Geographic Information Systems, ArcView, ArcGIS, Global Positioning Systems, Geovisualization, GPS, Remote Sensing, Cartography, AutoCAD, REVIT, HAZUS-MH, HAZUS Earthquake, HAZUS Advanced Engineering Building Module, AVID, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Dreamweaver, Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft CRM, Mac OS, Film Scanning, Digital Editing and Photoshop.

My hobbies include: Web Design, Web Content Management, 35mm black & white photography, color photography, medium format photography, digital photography, 16mm/8mm/super 8 motion picture photography, digital video, analog motion picture projection, non-linear editing, cinematography, MPEG video encoding. Prior to my receiving my undergrad degree I had studied visual arts/media arts and are familiar with the following mediums: Chalk, Charcoal, Colored Pencil, Conté Crayon, Graphite, Marker, Pastel, Pen and Ink, Acrylic Paint, Enamel Paint, Oils and Watercolor

In addition to the above, I work full-time in the fields of structural and civil engineering. I provide project management & business development for school & hospital design, structural & civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), green building, sustainable design, solar design, pre & post-earthquake inspections, Building Information Modeling (BIM), REVIT, and HAZUS-MH. In this professional capacity I have also worked with the State of California and Federal agencies such as: Division of State Architect (DSA), Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), The State of California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES), Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), FEMA Emergency Management Institute (FEMA) and the National Park Service (NPS). Last, I have the following professional memberships: AAG - Association of American Geographers ASLA - American Society of Landscape Architects, Affiliate Member AIA - American Institute of Architects, Allied Member APA - American Planning Association SMPS - Society for Marketing Professional Services
