I'm a cultural anthropologist with expertise in Latin America, particularly the Andean region of South America. I hold a PhD in anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Chicago. These days, I teach anthropology in the College of General Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The bulk of my contributions to Citizendium have been in the social sciences. I mostly focus on articles related to my academic pursuits, which involve Latin America past and present, indigeneity in the Americas, and global tourism. You can find much of my scholarly work through Google Scholar.

My user page and user talk page tend to get rather out of date; please don't mind the clutter.
