Hinne Hettema is an Honorary Research Fellow in the department of Philosophy at The University of Auckland in New Zealand. He also works as an internet security consultant. He studied Theoretical Chemistry and Philosophy of Science at the University of Groningen and completed a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. The topic of his PhD was the calculation of molecular polarisabilities and the calculation of van der Waals coefficients. He is the author of a number of papers in Quantum Chemistry and the Philosophy of Science, and the editor and translator of Quantum Chemistry: Classic Scientific Papers (World Scientific, 2000).
