Harrison Adéníyì, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of African Languages, Literature and Communication Arts teaches Yorùbá language and general Linguistics at the Lagos Sate University, Lagos, Nigeria. He possess B.A; M.A; Mhil and PhD in general Linguistics from the University of Ìbàdàn, Ìbàdàn, Nigeria. He also has a certificate of completion of study in African Languages from the National African Language Resource Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests involve phonology, morphology and their interface and Language and society. He is a member of both local and international professional associations including, Linguistics Association of Nigeria (where he is the national treasurer); West African Linguistics Society, African Languages Association of South Africa; Annual Conference on African Linguistics in the United States of America; African Language Teachers Association in the United States of America; World Congress on African Linguistics, and International Society for Language Studies among numerous others. He has presented papers at various professional conferences both locally and abroad. He has also contributed to chapters in books and journal articles in referred journals. He was a 2003 summer institute fellow of the National African Language resource Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a member of the team involved in the Yorùbá Online project at the African Studies Institute, University of Georgia, Athens, GA.
