I studied for a [[BEng]] in [[Software Engineering]] at the [[University of Wales, Aberystwyth]], and for an [[MA]] in [[Linguistics]] at the [[University of East Anglia]]. During my undergraduate degree I did an internship at [[Hewlett Packard]] working on high-performance [[file system]]s (see [[Lustre (file system)|Lustre]]). My undergraduate dissertation covered the automatic identification of language from raw text, and my masters dissertation covered the automatic evaluation of [[machine translation]]. I'm aiming to do a [[PhD]] in the area of automating building [[machine translation]] systems for closely related [[lesser-used languages]].

Bio
