David Tolfree is a professional physicist. He is the Vice President of the international, Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Educational Foundation. He is also one of the founders of the UK Institute of Nanotechnology and is a member of its Advisory Board. He has a Masters Degree in Nuclear Physics, is a Chartered Physicist, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Nanotechnology. He has published and edited over 140 papers, including journal and newspaper articles, books, conference papers, roadmaps and given interviews on television and radio. Interests are writing, photography and nanotechnology. He has co-authored the books: ‘Commercialising Micro-Nanotechnology Products’ and ‘Roadmapping Emergent Technologies’ and chapters in the MANCEF ‘International Microsystems and Top-Down Nanotechnology Roadmap’ David’s interests are writing, film-making, photography, space science, swimming, painting, gardening, reading science fiction, lecturing in science and technology to the public, including schools and colleges. David is passionately interested in technology and its impact on the future.
