Currently Professor of Old Tesatment and Semitic Languages at a midwest seminary, where I have been over 20 years. Interests and publications in: Old Testament/Hebrew Bible (Pentateuch, particularly Genesis and Numbers; Prophets, particularly Isaiah and Minor Prophets; Historical Books, particularly Kings); Semitic languages (Akkadian, Aramaic, Hebrew, Ugaritic, Northwest Semitic); ancient Near Eastern background of the Old Testament, especially the role of women in the Fertile Crescent.
