Received his B.S. in Physics cum laude from Seoul National University in 1987 and his M.S. in Physics and Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1988 and 1994, respectively. Process engineer at Applied Materials between 1994 and 1996. Process/device engineer at International Business Machines Corporation between 1996 and 2006. Registered U.S. patent agent since 2006. A member of Phi Kappa Phi. Author/coauthor of 12 scholarly publications in condensed matter physics and semiconductor technology. Inventor on 20 U.S. patents. Currently works as a patent agent at Scully, Scott, Murphy, & Presser P.C., an intellectual property firm located in Long Island, New York.
