I am a senior lecturer of Arabic Language and Culture at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. I have been teaching Arabic for both native and non-native speaking Arabic students. Ten courses were for total beginners. My research is on the Arab world in the field of linguistics and cultural aspects with some interest in Islamic Studies from linguistic point of view such as Quranic Exegesis and Medieval Rhetorics. Being a member in the German Orientalists’ Association, I am also interested in Arabic Literature and Oriental Studies. I spent nearly my whole career developing my knowledge, skills and methods in Arabic study and teaching. This includes studying three extra programs in Translation, Computing and Computational Linguistics. In addition to this, I have studied a classic program in Quranic Seven readings, which is considered a deep course in classic Arabic Phonology. I am also interested in Digital Humanities and Computational Linguistics.
