The tolar was the currency of Slovenia from 1992, when it replaced the Yugoslavian dinar, until 2007, when it was withdrawn and replaced by the euro. The Tolar was divided into 100 stotinov. The origin of the word 'tolar' is said to derive from the German word 'thaler', which is where the word 'dollar' comes from.
