Third United States Army is currently the [[U.S. Army component of [[United States Central Command CENTCOM, called ARCENT. Formally, its headquarters are at [[Fort McPherson, [[Georgia (U.S. state)|Georgia and it has forward command elements in the CENTCOM theater of operations, the Middle East. CENTCOM Forward is in [[Qatar.

History

It went into operations following the [[Battle of Normandy, as a breakout and exploitation force under GEN [[George Patton.
