They were pretty ubiquitous for a while -- you must have heard "Goodnight, Irene" at some point, that's truly a worldwide standard. Or so I think. They musta sung just about *every* great 'Merkin folksong before others got around to it. As I'll get to eventually in the article, Pete was the mastermind behind them, but other incarnations had existed earlier.... Hayford Peirce 23:15, 3 September 2008 (CDT)
