How is this different from "spiritualism"? --Larry Sanger 10:50, 20 February 2007 (CST)

Is Spiritism here, as in WP, only going to cover French spiritism? I believe Spiritism normally also covers the other movements with contact-seeking practice: The American movement (starting with the Fox sisters), the English movement (with the SPR research) and the modern Brazilian movement.

Spiritualism = the belief without the practice. Olav Næss 10:30, 6 April 2007 (CDT)

The article Spiritualism doesn't seem to fit that interpretation. Peter Jackson 16:05, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

It would appear from [1] that the term Spiritism is simetimes used to include both the above as well as Voodoo-type movements. Peter Jackson 16:09, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
