It is possible that reputable  books  concerning the events of 2009 may  become available in 2010 or 2011. Until then, readers will have to be content with a comprehensive set of references.  I hope to tackle the  "how did they get it wrong"  question in other articles but I believe  this article should be confined to the events and policies of  the recession of 2009.
