This a note just in case anyone wonders why I selected the title "Nôm", as oppose to "chữ Nôm", "chu Nom", "nom" etc, all of which are certainly common usage as well. Such descriptors as treated as part of the name in Asian languages, but dropping them off is considered good translation practice.
