I would have you think through what top-level articles we'll have on this general theme. Will we distinguish cuisine from cooking and both from food? And will we have some other general food-related articles? --Larry Sanger 17:06, 9 September 2007 (CDT)

Off the top of my head, I think that cuisine, particularly as it is being broken down into various nationalities, is clearly distinct from cooking. Both American and French cuisines, for instance, use broiling as a cooking technique. Ditto with all the other sub-categories that are listed in cooking right now. Food can have numerous sub-categories, such as nutrition, storage, production, health issues, etc. etc. And we have to do something about Beverages -- do wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks, milk, etc., fit in here, or where? And do we have a Catalog of wines, for instance, which could end up with *thousands* of entries. Food for thought.... Hayford Peirce 17:16, 9 September 2007 (CDT)
