The AN-|AN/]]TPQ-36 is a medium-range, directional counterbattery]] radar in the Firefinder series, used in the counter-rocket, artillery and mortar]] role. It complements the short-range but omnidirectional AN-|AN/]]TPQ-46]] (formerly Lightweight Countermortar Radar]] and the long-range AN-|AN/]]TPQ-37]] (also a Firefinder).
