The AN/TPQ-36 is a medium-range, directional counterbattery radar in the Firefinder series, used in the counter-rocket, artillery and mortar role. It complements the short-range but omnidirectional AN/TPQ-46 (formerly Lightweight Countermortar Radar and the long-range AN/TPQ-37 (also a Firefinder).
