Principally in the context of nuclear weapons but generally to advanced weapon systems, a national policy not to confirm or deny the possession of certain capabilities; term most commonly used regarding Israeli nuclear weapons, but has been used for such things as the presence of nuclear weapons aboard U.S. warships
