The basic Korean War tactical radio of the U.S. Army, a backpack vacuum tube radio with preselected frequencies, introduced in 1951 and begun to be replaced by the AN/PRC-25 in 1962. It operated between 38.0 to 54.9 MHz; the AN/PRC-8 and AN/PRC-9 were identical save for operating frequencies
