OMB Watch is a watchdog interest group, which gives its mission as "increase government transparency and accountability; to ensure sound, equitable regulatory and budgetary processes and policies; and to protect and promote active citizen participation in our democracy." It was formed in 1983 to monitor the relatively new Office of Management and Budget, which had been formed from the older Bureau of the Budget, but, as part of the Executive Office of the President, was subject to little external review.

The group is nonpartisan and frequently operates in coalition, but was formed during the Ronald Reagan Administration and its board members are generally seen as centrist to liberal.

It has received a four-star efficiency rating from Charity Navigator.
