In Australia National Science Week, which began in 1997, coincides with Sleek Geek Week.
Britain's Science Week began in 1994 and is organised by the British Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2006 there were over 100 activities in London alone. However, there has also been some critical examination of science week in the scientific and generalpress by scientist and author Brian J. Ford.
