Marseille or Marseilles (French: Marseille, Occitan: Marselha, Latin: Massilia, Greek: Μασσαλία / Massalia) is the greatest city of Provence and the regional capital of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, in southern France, on the Mediterranean Sea. It has 826 700 inhabitants. It is one of the most important ports of the Mediterranean.
