Man of La Mancha is musical play based on a 1959 teleplay by Dale Wassermann, which was in turn inspired by events from Cervantes' 1605 novel Don Quixote.
Man of La Mancha was first performed at the Goodspeed Opera House in the U.S. state of Conneticut. It subsequently moved to Broadway and has since been revived many times. There was also a 1972 film.
The signature tune The Impossible Dream has become a standard.
