John Mills (born Lewis Ernest Watts Mills; 22 February 1908 – 23 April 2005) was a British film actor who was active for over seventy years from his first accredited appearance in 1932 until his last in 2005. Mills was born in North Elmham, Norfolk and died, aged 97, in Denham, Buckinghamshire. A highly versatile actor, he is best remembered for his roles in films about the Second World War.

Among his films were Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), The Young Mr Pitt (1942), We Dive at Dawn (1943), This Happy Breed (1944), The Way to the Stars (1945), Great Expectations (1946), Scott of the Antarctic (1948), The History of Mr Polly (1949), The Colditz Story (1955), Above Us the Waves (1955), Dunkirk (1958), Ice Cold in Alex (1958), I Was Monty's Double (1958), Swiss Family Robinson (1960), The Family Way (1966), Ryan's Daughter (1970), Young Winston (1972) and The Quatermass Conclusion (1979).
